Your Lifestyle
A lifestyle and patient-centered approach:

Merged seamlessly with our treatment protocols and, uniquely, both interactive and highly pro-active. We utilize evidence-based Best Practice approaches in all three areas of service: physical therapy, metabolic health and wellness.
It is only in recent years that the importance of lifestyle to health has come into focus, although as most of us probably remember, the idea itself has been around for many years. How many of us remember our mother telling us to "go out and get some exercise— it's good for you"?

For more than 50 years research has told us that the way we live our lives— the choices we make— are the keys to health and well-being. The scientists who first conceived of and studied the concept of Successful Aging also realized it was lifestyle factors which put the 'Success' in aging.

At ActiveRx, our integrative approach acknowledges the importance of lifestyle for more rapid recovery from injury and disablement; for the prevention of disease and infirmity; and more importantly for the promotion of independence, health and wellbeing.

We also understand that changing lifestyle habits is not easy. Many of our new patients report having previously experienced difficulties in starting and sticking to a rehab program, exercise program or diet plan.

The ActiveRx Experience
When you become a patient at ActiveRx, you will be in the care of a highly qualified team of dedicated physicians and therapists whose common goal is working with you to proactively achieve and sustain a more active, healthy lifestyle.
Much of the reason for this is that typical approaches to changing lifestyle behaviors have almost always involved the same kind of 'two-step' approach. First, you show people what to do by providing them with a 'program' of some kind. Second, you tell them how to do it by providing instructions or 'tips' to follow. Although history has proven that this 'Show and Tell' two-step is not a good way to change behaviors, it is still the most frequent method in use 'out there', whether for personal trainers or health providers.

In contrast at ActiveRx we use a coaching infused approach for our individual patient interaction and the group-based Stanford Healthy Lifestyle Program for those who are ready to join a program designed to change specific lifestyle behaviors.

Both of these approaches are evidence-based and have a long history of success. They are monitored and supervised by Dr. Wayne Phillips.

When you are able to do all the things you want to do as well as all the things you need to do— the things you enjoy to do as well as the things you are required to do. Then you are living an ActiveRx Lifestyle!
